Manager, Accounting

About Darchicourt Consulting Darchicourt Consulting is a fast-growing accounting and consulting firm focused on helping small and mid-sized businesses streamline their accounting and back-office operations. We partner with clients as an extension of their team—delivering monthly accounting, financial reporting, and strategic consulting support. Our work spans monthly close, reporting, process improvement, and special projects, with a strong emphasis on leveraging technology (especially QuickBooks Online) to simplify complex accounting environments.
Position Overview We are seeking a Manager, Accounting to take ownership of client engagements, oversee accounting deliverables, and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners. This role will play a key part in supporting firm growth by taking on significant client responsibility and helping scale our service delivery. This is a highly autonomous, client-facing role ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a consulting environment and is comfortable operating independently while maintaining high standards of quality and service. This individual will work closely with firm leadership and is expected to take over a substantial portion of client service responsibilities, helping to expand the firm’s capacity and support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients
Build strong relationships and act as a trusted financial advisor
Lead client meetings and present financial insights
Manage ongoing communication and engagement delivery
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
Identify and implement process improvements
Review & Quality Control
Review accounting work for accuracy and completeness
Maintain high-quality standards across engagements
Provide feedback and mentorship to team members
Advisory & Problem Solving
Resolve complex accounting issues independently
Lead special projects (cleanups, implementations, documentation)
Recommend automation and efficiency improvements
Firm Growth & Operations
Support firm scalability and client capacity
Assist with tax coordination as the practice grows
Contribute to internal process development and best practices
Qualifications
Required
CPA
8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Public accounting experience
Strong QuickBooks Online expertise
Experience with small and mid-sized business clients
Deep knowledge of month-end close and financial reporting
Preferred
Big 4 or similar firm experience
Experience with system implementations or process improvement
Skills
